Educational Qualification: Degree (First or Second class) with Mathematics and atleast one of the following subjects — Physics and Chemistry
OR
Higher Secondary (10+2 with first or second class) with Mathematics and any one of the following subjects —Physics, Chemistry.

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination-2014.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Personality Test. Written Examination will be of Objective type (Multiple type) and will be in three papers.
Paper-I will be General Ability Test (English, GK and Psychological Test), Paper-II will be Physical Sciences (Physics and Chemistry) and Paper-III will of Mathematics. There will be negative marking for wrong answers.  See the below PDF file for details.
All eligible candidates will be issued an e-Admission certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The exact date and venue of examination will be intimated in due course.

Beside above mentioned qualification and physical fitness, candidates will have to go through the Physical Endurance Test which will be as follows.
Physical Endurance Test —
For the post of Fireman:
(a) Passing a timed run.
(b) Carrying a man (Fireman lift) of 63.5 Kgs to a distance of 183 meters within 96 seconds).
(c) Clearing 2.7 meters wide ditch landing on both feet (long jump).
(d) Climbing 3 meters vertical rope using hands and feet.

For the post of Mazdoor:
(i) Passing a timed run.
(ii) Physical endurance tests.
