Craaave

Craaave is an app for easily identifying and sharing music. Users can search for music or use their microphone to analyze what’s playing around them and then send those songs to friends through Contacts or Facebook. Craaave can link with services like Spotify and Soundcloud so that users can quickly save songs to their library of choice. The app also provides an iTunes Store option if available. Craaave is currently available on iOS.

'Tacky', A Parody of Pharrell's Hit Song 'Happy' by 'Weird Al' Yankovic

“Weird Al” Yankovic has released a music video for his new single “Tacky”, a parody of the hit song “Happy” by Pharrell. The video features a series of cameos from people like Jack Black wearing terrifyingly mismatched outfits.

The song is the first single off Yankovic’s new album, Mandatory Fun, which is scheduled to drop tomorrow, July 15th. The album is currently available for pre-order via Amazon.

In the latest animation by TED-Ed, educator Claudia Aguirre and animator Hector Herrera explore the age-old origins of tattooing and explain why they stick around — in spite of the fact that we shed around one million skin cells per day.

The simple answer is that tattooing involves getting pigment deeper into the skin than the outer-most layer that gets shed.

Tommy (Erdelyi) Ramone (1949-2014), Drummer and Last Original Member of the Ramones

Tommy (Erdelyi) Ramone, the Hungarian-born lightning-fast drummer and last original member of the Ramones, the pioneering powerhouse punk-rock band, died at his home in Ridgewood, New York on Friday July 11 after a long battle with cancer. He was 65 years old.

Rest in Peace Tommy. You will be remembered always. Long live The Ramones!

Madrid filmmaker David de los Santos Gil shot color time-lapse video of a dozen different flower varieties blooming, compiling the results into a single short video. The full process involved 50,000 photographs shot over a nine-month period though only 5,000 images made it into the final piece.

'Apis Mellifera: Honey Bee', A Slow-Motion Video Featuring Fascinating Facts About the Lives of Bees

"Apis Mellifera: Honey Bee" is a slow-motion video by Boston filmmaker Michael Sutton that examines the world of bees with facts about the fascinating creatures peppered between stunning shots of them in flight. The video was shot at the Hillside Apiary in New Hampshire without the aid of a beekeeping suit, the latter of which inspired one of the facts in the film.

I was stung three times making this.

Flight Between Tokyo and San Francisco Condensed Into an 83-Second Hyperlapse Video

YouTuber user psp747 has uploaded a video of a nine-and-a-half hour flight between Tokyo, Japan and San Francisco, California that has been condensed into 83 seconds. The video, which is comprised of 3,400 individual images, is a bit of an extreme example of hyperlapse photography, a variety of time-lapse shot over long distances. The short includes a dark middle section which is broken up by a spectacular sunrise halo.
