The 5th Annual Superhero Street Fair, a superhero-themed outdoor music festival, takes place September 27, 2014 at the Waterfront Boardwalk Oasis in San Francisco. This year’s festival will feature seven music stages, as well as a climbing wall, light sculpture installations, and other attractions. 2014: Technology is changing faster and faster. What does this mean for our consciousness, and how people interact? What creativity and superpowers do you bring to the everyday world? Let’s shoot into the future full force, solar powered, super powered, renewable as possible, leaving as soft an imprint as possible while affecting as many as we can through great example.

This nightmare-inducing 60s-era television commercial for Post Sugar Rice Krinkles stars a crazy-eyed clown mascot for the cereal who was appropriately named Krinkles. Krinkles was not the only unfortunate mascot for Sugar Rice Krinkles–an earlier version of the cereal featured So-Hi, a decidedly racist Asian caricature. For another dose of Krinkles, see this 1960 commercial starring an entirely different yet still cringeworthy clown. As part of the recently completed 2014 Dropbox Hack Week, artist Alice Lee used more than 7,600 LEGO blocks to create this letter art mural that reads “hack” in ornate lettering. She has more letter art and illustration on her site.
