AIRMAN — Recruitment Rally for Group 'Y' Trades at Air Force Station, Barrackpore.

Eligible District of West Bengal and State — Candidates residing permanently in the following district of West Bengal are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally — Dinajpur (North), Dinajpur (South), Coochbehar, Purulia, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, Malda, Medinipore (East) and Medinipore (West). As well as Candidates from the State of Sikkim are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally.

Date of Recruitment Rally: From 16 Feb, 2014 to 19 Feb, 2014.

Selection Programme: The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards as prescribed below. Candidates reporting upto 10 AM at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.
Date — 16th Feb,2014: Written Test and Physical Fitness Test for Group 'Y' (Non-Technical) trades.
Date — 17th Feb,2014: Interview and Medical Examination for the candidates who qualified Written Test and PFT

Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary/ 10+2 pass in any stream OR Diploma in Engineering in any discipline with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% in English.

Age Limit: Candidate should be born between 01 Feb, 1994 to 31 May 1997 (both days inclusive)

Medical Standards: Height—minimum 152.5 cms, Chest— Minimum range of expansion by 5 cms, Weight—Proportionate to height and age, Vision—minimum 6/36 (unaided) corrected to at least 6/9 for each eye with spectacles.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties

Pay and Allowances: During training period, a stipend of Rs.8550/- per month will be paid. On completion of training, starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay for Group 'Y' trades will be Rs.19000/- per month (approx) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs.35000/- (approx). Beside pay, there will be other allowances as per norms. 

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Physical Fitness Test and Interview followed by Medical Examination. See the below given PDF file for details.
Written Test will be objective type and question paper will be set in Hindi & English and will comprise the following subject – English and Reasoning & General Awareness.

Physical Fitness Test (PFT) will be –  1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Additional mark will be given to the candidates who cover the run in less than 7 minutes 30 seconds.

Interview: Candidates who have passed the Written Test and PDF will be interviewed.
Candidates who qualify the interview will go for Medical Examination.

Physical Standards of the candidates —
Height and Weight: The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. with co-related weight and for women candidate is 152 cms and 42 Kg. In case of candidates belonging to the North East and Hilly Areas like Gorkhas, Nepalies, Assamies and Garhwalis, the height will relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms.
Eye Sight: Distant Vision (corrected) better eye 6/6, worse eye 6/18, myopia of not more than minus 3.50 for men and 5.50 for women including astigmatism.

Age Limit (For all candidates): Between 19yrs to 25yrs, i.e. candidates must born not earlier than 02 Jul 89 and not later than 01 Jul 95.
