• The Government of India and the Indian Council for Child Welfare (ICCW) together presents the National Bravery Award for children who show exemplary work of bravery against all odds.
• National Bravery Award was instituted in 1957 and on February 4, 1958, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru presented the very first bravery award.
• Since then, the nominations for The National Bravery Award are called upon every year and as per the decision made by the Committee constituted by ICCW comprising representatives from various Govt. Organizations, NGOs, ICCW members and Office- Bearers.
• Every year, these Awards are presented to 24 children by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India prior to the Republic Day and then bravery award recepient children also attend the Republic Day Parade.
• Children from 6-18 years of age are eligible to send their nominations for the National Bravery Award against their act of spontaneous selfless service for mankind or showing courage & daring against a social evil/crime.

• The Globalink Research Internship is a competitive initiative for young researchers and provides them an opportunity to undertake research projects at Canadian Universities.
• Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is open to undergraduate students of India, Brazil, China, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Vietnam.
• The Mitacs Globalink Research Internship is a summer internship program of 12 weeks i.e from May to September that offers young talents a platform to pursue their research interests & skills and to gain expertise in the relevant stream.
  • Globalink Research Internships are open to all academic disciplines including humanities, social sciences and STEM disciplines
• During the internship program, students participate in research projects under the supervision of outstanding faculty members, work with graduate students & research associates, and experience the many one-of-a-kind educational, social, and recreational opportunities Canada has to offer.
• Students who apply must be enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate degree-granting program at an accredited university in Brazil, China, France, India, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, Turkey or Vietnam, the countries whose students are eligible to apply for the Globalink Internship.
• For 2015, 45 Canadian Universities (List of Universities) are offering the Globalink Research Internship Program to selected International students.
• This year, Mitacs Research Internship Program will host more than 475 students and Interns will arrive between May 1 and June 30 and depart between July 31 and September 30 from Canada.

• Regional Mathematical Olympiad is a stepping stone towards the Indian National Mathematical Olympiad, a qualifying stage of International Mathematical Olympiad
   (In 2015, IMO will be held in Chiang Mai,Thailand.)

• The RMO across the country is held in 25 regions and CBSE, KVS and JNV.
• Regional Mathematical Olympiad will be held on December 7,2014 and out of all the applicants taking the RMO test, total 30 candidates will be selected from each region to take INMO.

About RMO 2014- Karnataka Region

• Students residing in Karnataka and having Mathematics as their subject are eligible to take the RMO test.
• Students of Class 9, 10 & 11 are eligible to take RMO 2014 and the test will be hel;d at various centres in Karnataka Region.
• Registration for Maths Olympiad for 2014 will open on September1, 2014 and close on October 31, 2014.
• RMO Karnataka 2014 will be held on December 7, 2014. ( 1PM-4 PM)
