Educational Qualification: Class 10 pass or ITI or equivalent. Candidates with higher qualification can also apply.

Candidates' Selection:
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination followed by Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Examination.

The duration of the Written Examination shall be 1½ hours. The Written Examination shall be based on Class Ten level (10 Standard) consisting of 100 multiple choice objective type questions aimed to asses the General Knowledge/Awareness, Mathematics and reasoning etc.
The question paper shall be printed in Hindi, Urdu, English and in the Regional Languages viz. Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada.
There will be negative marking for wrong answers. 

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)—
For Male candidates: Run of 1000 mtrs in 4 minutes 15 seconds in one chance.
For Female candidates: Run of 400 mtrs in 3 minutes 10 seconds in one chance.

Examination Fee:
Rs.100/- is to be paid as examination fee. Fees can be paid by means of fee payment challan (in case of Online Application form) through any branch of State Bank of India OR can be paid in form of DD/IPO (in case of offline Application form) drawn in favour of – The Assistant Personnel Officer/ Recruitment, RRC, Chennai – 600 008 and payable at – Chennai.
