BE/B.Tech. degree/ AMIE in Electrical from a recognized University/ Institute approved by AICTE with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade.

B Sc (Physics/ Chemistry/ Maths)Minimum 50% marks for the qualifying examination required for general candidates. For SC/ST candidates, mark for qualifying examination is relaxed by 5%.Candidates who have passed in the years 2008-2013 only are eligible to apply.

Passed Matriculation or its equivalent with not less than 50%marks in aggregate. Minimum percentage of 50% marks in aggregate is not applicable to SC/ST candidates and to those candidates (Irrespective of community),who possess qualifications higher than matriculation such as HSC/Intermediate/Graduation/Post Graduation.(or) Act Apprenticeship / ITI . No other qualification including Diploma in Engineering will be accepted as an alternative. Act Apprenticeship / ITI Certificate must be approved by SCVT/NCVT.

First Class B.Sc / B.Tech with three years experience OR Post Graduate in Science / Technology OR PG Diploma in Science / Technology with one year experience. Desirable: Hands-on experience in Molecular biology techniques including nucleic acids manipulations, sequencing, genotyping, application of statistical tools for genotypic and population analysis and handling of bones, extracted body parts, crime scene samples, preserved specimens for nucleic acid manipulations and genotyping.

1st class M.Sc. Microbiology/ Botany/ Plant Pathology/Agriculture/ Life Science. Desirable : Mushroom diversity &  characterization.

First Class full time 4 years B.Sc. (Agriculture/ Forestry/Horticulture). SC candidates should have secured first class with minimum 65% of marks in aggregate. All other candidates should have secured first class with minimum 70% of marks in aggregate. (or) First Class full time M.Sc.(Botany). SC candidates should have secured first class with minimum 65% of marks in aggregate in M.Sc. and minimum 60% of marks in Graduation. All other candidates should have secured first class with minimum 70% of marks in aggregate in M.Sc. and minimum 60% of marks in Graduation.
