1,834 surveyors to be appointed soon Says Revenue Minister

BANGALORE: Karnataka government would soon issue appointment orders to recruit 1,834 surveyors across the State, Revenue Minister V Srinivasa Prasad informed the Legislative Council. 

In a reply to Rajiv P (BSR Congress) during question hour, Prasad said the Karnataka Examination Authority conducted the examination and a decision has been taken to appoint 1834 surveyors. 

A proposal would placed before the next Cabinet meeting for approval and recruitment orders would be issued within a week, he said. 

Sanctioned surveyors' posts are 4012. Presently, 1772 surveyors are working and 2240 posts are vacant. Recruitment process was completed and eligible 1834 surveyors would be appointed. 

The Minister also said the remuneration of surveyors would be hiked significantly

SAIL gets 1.8 lakh Job applications in 2013 | Steel Authority of India Limited

 KOLKATA: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the leading steel producer has received a massive 1,80,000 job applications in 2013, as part of the company's drive to induct young, professional talent in its frontline managerial cadre. While SAIL did not say how many it would recruit this year, the company has been hiring around 600 engineering graduates every year, keeping in view the company's massive on going expansion and modernization programme at an investment of Rs 72,000 crore.


The selection of candidates is based on an extensive written examination followed by group discussion and interview. During the current year, the test was scheduled in 29 cities covering 20 states at 214 test centres.While the written examination scheduled on July 14, 2013 was conducted smoothly across the country, irregularities were reported from two centres at Patna. It related to usage of high tech gadgets by some unscrupulous elements for resorting to unfair practices during the examination. These elements have been apprehended by law and order authorities. In consideration of the seriousness of the incident SAIL has ordered a retest in these two centres only, which will be conducted within the next two/ three weeks
