Municipal Service Commission (MSC), Kolkata, is recruiting 147 candidates for the posts of – Assistant Engineer (Civil/ Electrical/ Mech), Assistant Planner and Technical Assistant (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical) under the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority. Eligible Indian citizens may apply for the vacancies on prescribed application format. Advertisement No. 5 of 2013. Qualification norms and brief details are given below —

1. ASSISTANT ENGINEER 
Discipline wise vacancies are —
— Civil: 20 Nos. (Gen—9; SC—5; ST—2; OBC—4)
— Electrical: 03 Nos. (Gen—1; ST—1; OBC-A—1)
— Mechanical: 02 Nos. (Gen—1; ST—1)
Educational Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade with at least 1 (one) year experience in the field.
Age: 18 to  32yrs   40yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9000/- — Rs.40500/- and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-

2. ASSISTANT PLANNER 
Number of Vacancies: 09 Nos. (Gen—4; SC—3; ST—1; OBC-A—1)
Educational Qualification: Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in Town /Regional/Transportation Planning AND Bachelor's Degree in Architecture/Civil Engineering or its equivalent with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade.
Age: 18yrs to   32yrs   40yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9000/- —Rs.40500/- and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-

3. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT 
Discipline wise vacancies —
— Civil: 104 Nos. (Gen—54; SC—27; ST—06; OBC—17)
— Electrical: 05 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—1; OBC-A—1)
— Mechanical: 04 Nos. (Gen-PWD—1; SC—2; OBC-B—1)
Educational Qualification: Diploma in relevant discipline from any recognized Polytechnic/ Institution with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade AND atleast one year experience in the field.
Age: 18yrs to   32yrs   40yrs.
Pay Scale: Rs.9000/- —Rs.40500/- and Grade Pay: Rs.4400/-

N.B: Reservation of the post of Person with Disabilities is as per norms. Refer the advt. for details.

Upper age relaxation: Above mentioned age will be counted as on 01/01/2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST - 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others - As per norms.

Candidates' Selection: The Commission will conduct Preliminary Test, Written Test, Skill Test and interview as the case may be. The scheme and syllabus of the screening test/written test etc. will be intimated in due course through the commission's website.

Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Application Fee of Rs.150/- and Processing Fee of Rs.50/- (as bank charges) through any branches of United Bank of India by means of Fee Payment Challan which can be downloaded from the commission's website. Fee is to be deposited in the A/C No. 0088050006798 of UBI Entally Branch.

No Application Fee for SC/ST and PWD candidates however they must pay only Processing Fee of Rs.50/- through the branches of United Bank of India.

Candidates must enclose the Self-attested photocopies of the documents/certificates in support of age, caste, qualification and experience (if any) etc.
Superscribe the top of envelope containing the application form as – "NAME OF THE POST _______, CATEGORY_______".

Last Date and Address: The duly filled Application form along with enclosures must reach the following addresses on or before   12/12/2013   Extended to 31/12/2013 (4PM) by post — "Municipal Service Commission, 149, A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata — 700 014".
