Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSCWB) is inviting application in the prescribed format for the post of 185 Nos. "Assistant Engineer (Civil)" in Engineering Departments under the below given services on temporary basis. Advertisement No. 13/2013. Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and will be carried by PSC WB. Educational qualification norms and eligibility criteria in brief is given below —



ASSISTANT ENGINEER (CIVIL) 
Number of Vacancies: 185 Nos. [Unreserved – 45, SC – 63, ST – 40, BC(Category-A) – 24, BC(Category-B) – 02 and PH – 11 (VH–04, OH - 04 & HI–03)]

The engagement will be on temporary basis in Engineering Department of the following services —
(A) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS UNDER PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
(B) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (IRRIGATION) UNDER IRRIGATION AND WATERWAYS DEPARTMENT.
(C) WEST BENGAL PUBLIC HEALTH ENGINEERING SERVICE (CIVIL) UNDER PUBLIC HEALTH ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT.
(D) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING) UNDER MUNICIPAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT.
(E) WEST BENGAL SERVICE OF ENGINEERS (CIVIL) UNDER PANCHAYAT AND RURAL DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT.

Educational Qualification: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Candidates must be able to read, write and speak in Bengali (Not required in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from the Hill areas of the District of Darjeeling).
Desirable — One year's Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical engineering experience is desirable.

Age Limit: Maximum 32yrs as on 01-01-2013 (i.e. born not earlier than the 2nd January, 1981). Upper age relaxation for SC/ST - 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others - As per norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600— Rs.42000 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-
Gross emoluments at the entry level—  Rs.21,000/- besides D.A., M.A. and H.R.A. admissible as per rules.

Candidates' Selection: The candidates will be selected through the competitive examination comprising Written Examination (Multiple choice objective type) followed by Interview.
The Written Examination will be held in Kolkata only in April, 2014 or thereabout.

Interview of candidates to be selected on the basis of the Written Examination, will be held in Commission's office in Kolkata.
Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained by the candidates in the written examination and interview.

Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Application Fee of Rs.210/- in form of Crossed Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of — The Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal or by a receipted challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head "0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees". The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata.

Candidates shall also enclose two (02) Self-Address unstamped envelopes along with Application form.

Municipal Service Commission (MSC West Bengal) is inviting application in prescribed application format for the post of "JUNIOR ASSISTANT" in the Kolkata Municipal Corporation & Municipal Service Commission. Name of the Post: JUNIOR ASSISTANT
Two panels— one main panel against clear vacancies and one supplementary panel against subsequent vacancies will be prepared in order of merit on the result of the Recruitment Examination. The panels will remain valid for one year only from the date of its publication. Only main panel will be prepared for recruitment under Municipal Service Commission.

Tentative Number of Vacancies —
Main Panel: Total — 100 Nos. (UR-52, UR (PH)-03, SC-22, ST-06, OBC(A)-06, OBC(B)-07) for Kolkata Municipal Corporation.
Main Panel: 04 (UR-2, ST-01, OBC(A)-01) for Municipal Service Commission.
Supplementary Panel : 50 (UR-26, UR(PH)-01, SC-11, ST-03, OBC(A)-05, OBC(B)-04) for Kolkata Municipal Corporation. 

Educational Qualification: Higher Secondary pass or its equivalent.
Working knowledge in computer is desirable.

Pay Band: Rs.5400—25200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2600/-

Age: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 40yrs as on 01/01/2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST - 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; and Others - As per norms.

Candidates' Selection: The recruitment examination will be held in two stages viz., (i) OMR based written examination consisting of multiple choice, objective type 100 questions of — General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Science, Mathematics, reasoning etc. carrying two marks each.
There will be negative marking for wrong answer.  Questions will be set in English and time allowed will be 2½ (two and half) hours
(ii) Personality Test/ Interview
Final merit list will be prepared on the basis of the total marks obtained in the written examination & Personality Test / Interview. See the below given Advt. for details.
Admit Cards for the examination will be sent to the eligible candidates in due course.

Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the vacancies must pay Application Fee of Rs.150/- and processing charge of Rs.50/-, i.e. Total – Rs.200/-
Candidates shall bear the bank's service charges of Rs.20/- additionally.
