Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary positions of one Research Associate (RA) and one Senior Research Fellow (SRF) in the DBT's Sub-project-6 entitled "Functional genomics of nodulation in chickpea root" of Root Development and Nutrition under the guidance of Dr. Sabhyata Bhatia, Scientist, NIPGR.

 (A)       Research Associate (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms

Candidates having Ph.D. degree in any discipline of Life Sciences (including Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology & Biochemistry) with some research experience are eligible to apply. Candidates with strong molecular biology and genomics background and having experience in next generation transcriptome sequencing and analysis, cloning and characterization of genes, investigating DNA-protien or protein-protein interactions, genetic transformation, analysis of small RNAs, bioinformatics (genome/transcriptome sequence assembly and annotation) etc., will be preferred. Working experience in Linux systems and knowledge in BioPERL, Python and Java scripts is desirable. The candidate should preferably have research experience as evidenced from published papers in standard referred journals

(B)       Senior Research Fellow (one post): Emoluments as per DST/DBT norms.

Candidates having M.Sc. degree (with minimum 55%) or equivalent in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology or any other related field with minimum of two years of post M.Sc. research experience are eligible to apply. Candidate having experience in high-throughput genomics and/or bioinformatics analysis will be preferred.

The positions are completely on temporary basis and co-terminus with the project. The initial appointment will be for one year, which can be curtailed/extended on the basis of assessment of the candidate's performance and discretion of the Competent Authority. NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above posts depending upon the qualifications and experience of the candidates. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms.

WALK-IN INTERVIEW

Department of Information Technology, Government of Sikkim invites applications from local candidates having Certificate of Identification (COI) for the post of Project Manager in a Mission Mode Project (MMP) under National e-Governance Plan (NeGP) funded by Department of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India.

The post will be purely on contractual basis for a period of ONE (1) Year which may be renewed for a maximum of 2 (two) more years subject to satisfactory performance in the first year.

All the selected candidates will be governed by a contract to be signed with the Department of Information Technology, Government of Sikkim. They will not have any claim whatsoever, during and after the completion of the project for absorption in Sikkim Government in regular capacity.

Educational Qualification

5)    Result oriented and self-motivated.

Terms & Conditions
The terms and conditions for the appointment of Project Manager are as follows:

a) The appointment of Project Manager will be on contractual basis. This contract would be initially for one year which may be renewed for a maximum of 2 (two) more years subject to satisfactory performance in the first year.

b) Annual increments will be subject to the performance evaluation of the Project Manager by relevant authority.

c) During the contractual period, the applicants will be posted at office of the DM / DC or any officer designated for implementation of the Project by the State at district level.

d) Project Manager will be required to travel to various other locations within the district to carry out its tasks.

e) Transportation and accommodation cost incurred during official travel will be reimbursed by appropriate authority.

f) The appointment being purely contractual in nature, the appointee shall not be entitled for any gratuity, provident fund, or pension benefit.

g) If selected they should be willing to go to any district within Sikkim.

h) No TA / DA are permissible.
