West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (WBSEDCL) is going to recruit 245 Nos. "Jr. Operator  Technician cum Technical Assistant. Madhyamik pass candidates with ITI in the below mentioned trades may apply for the post. Application form can be submitted only through Online system from the official website of WBSEDCL. Notification No. MPP/2013/03. Qualification norms and criteria in brief are as follows —



1. Jr. Operator Technician cum Technical Assistant: 245 Nos. (Gen—116; SC—52; ST—15; OBC-A—25; OBC-B—17; PH—7; Ex-Serviceman—13)

Educational Qualification: Madhyamik pass or equivalent AND ITI Trade Certificate of 2 years duration course in any one of the following trades – Electronic Mechanic/ Wireman/ Electrician.
Preference will be given to the candidates who have adequate knowledge in communicating in Bengali or Nepali language.

Pay Scale: Rs.6300—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2600/- plus other allowances as per norms.

Age Limit: Candidates must be minimum 18yrs and maximum 27yrs as on 01-01-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST - 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others - As per norms.
Upper age relaxation is applicable for candidates of West Bengal only. Candidates from other States of India will be treated as General/ Unreserved category.

Selection of the candidates will be on the basis of performance in the Written Examination and Interview.
The written examination and interview will be held in Kolkata only. Date and venue of Written Test/ Interview will be intimated in due course.
Selected candidates are liable to be posted in any Offices/ Units or Hydel Power Stations of West Bengal State.
Initially selected candidates will be on probation for One year and after satisfactory completion of the period, they may be confirmed in regular post.

Application Fee: Candidates willing to apply for the post will have to deposit Application Fee of Rs.250/- by means of fee Challan through any branch of United Bank of India. The Fee Challan is to be downloaded/ print-out from the official website of WBSEDCL (link given below).
Candidates will have to pay Rs.22/- additionally as bank charge while depositing the fee. 

After depositing the fee, bank will provide Transaction ID and SOL ID which are required to mention in the Online application form.
SC/ST candidates of West Bengal are not required to pay any Application Fee but will have to produce ST/ST caste certificate.

After successful submission of Online application form; candidates must print-out the system generated Registration Slip.

Educational Qualification:—
Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): 3 years full time Diploma in engineering in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Metallurgy/ Chemical/ Ceramics/ Civil, and Instrumentation discipline

Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): Matriculation and ITI in Fitter/ Welder/ Electrician/ Air conditioning /Refrigeration/ /Draughtsman/Machinist/Turner/ Instrument Mechanic/ Electronic Mechanic / IT & ESM trades

Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): 3 years full time Diploma in engineering from Govt. Recognised Institute with 2nd Class or 1st Class Certificate of Boiler Competency.

Age Limits (As on 01/01/2013): Between 28yrs to 31yrs for Trainees and between 30yrs to 33yrs for Boiler Operation. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST- 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman & any other Categories - As per Govt. norms.
